The Sport for Social Change Network (SSCN) Zambia Chapter will be holding a Youth Sports day and stakeholder’s forum on Friday 2nd August 2013 at the Barclays Sports Complex in Lusaka. The participants for the Youth Sports Event will be drawn participants from sport development organizations that make up the Sport for Social Change Network Zambia Chapter.
The Sports for Social Change Network is comprised of organization based in Zambia that utilizes the power of sport to contribute to positive social change. The Youth Sports event will use movement games that integrate education and awareness on issues that affect children focusing on children’s rights.
The second part of the program is a stakeholder’s forum to share the work we do as the network and to engage on issues affecting children’s access to sport and opportunities for future cooperation.
The objectives of the stakeholders Forum will include:
– To provide a platform for the SSCN Zambia members to interact with sports stakeholders
– To raise awareness among the sport community on the SSCN Zambia
– To demonstrate to the stakeholders the concept of Sport for Social Change
– To facilitate joint action and collaboration among the SSCN network members in Zambia
The two events will bring together 100 children and youth from the SSCN Zambia member as well as 30 people from Government, media, corporate, civil society and sport. The following organizations have been identified to be part of the sports event. Each identified organization will be required t bring four boys and 4 girls aged between 12 and 14.
