The FIFA Football For Hope has started it’s new chapter of engaging more rural youth in Water and Sanitation (WASH) activities aimed at reducing cases of waterborne disease which have increased in the recent past. Youth from rural Zambia do not only suffer the scales of not having access to clean water, they also suffer the agony of lack of treatment when sick and most agonizing having to travel long distances to access medical help.
With the coming of the WASH project to Malambanyama and Kalola rural communities, youth will have a chance not to only learn about personal hygiene, but they will be able to play a sport they love so much – soccer. CBSA will run community based Ligie Yathu – Our League with over 48 teams participating. Teams will be drawn from community schools, government schools and teams from surrounding villages.
For the next 3 years, Chiparamba Breakthrough will focus on reaching over 3000 youth directly and hope to double that number through indirect means.
