The event is an annual football program organized by Chiparamba Breakthrough Sports Academy to create a platform for youth development through football, skills identification and promote awareness around social development.
Since inception in 2010, the Skills cup football tournament has reached out to over 10, 000 boys and girls within Lusaka in the different age categories, over 1000 volunteers and created awareness around social issues such as HIV/AIDS, Environmental cleanup, Health and Hygiene as well as Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights amongst other important topics in collaboration with different interest organizations and institutions such as Grassroots Soccer Zambia, Tackle Africa, Southern Aids Trust.
The 2017 Cup
Building on the success of the 2016 football tournament held in Kalingalinga at Jarmy Community School in Lusaka, the 2017 Skills Cup will be held between three townships namely, Garden Compound, Northmead and Thornpark townships using three different venues, host teams between 10 and 20 years boys and girls categories including Paralympics, Special Olympics and host games for Children and youths from the streets played from the 8th to the 14th
of December, 2017
